Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
These terms govern your use of QuickSay. We have written them in plain language because we believe you should understand what you are agreeing to.
1. License
A one-time purchase of $39 USD (launch pricing, regular price $74 USD) grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use QuickSay for personal and commercial use on unlimited Windows machines that you own or control.
"Perpetual" means the license does not expire. You pay once and the software is yours to use indefinitely.
You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer QuickSay. The license is for your individual use and cannot be transferred to another person or entity.
2. Refund Policy
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If QuickSay does not work for you, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund — no questions asked.
To request a refund, email [email protected] with your purchase email address. Refunds are processed through our payment processor (LemonSqueezy) and typically appear within 5-10 business days.
3. Updates
All updates within the current major version of QuickSay are included at no additional cost. When we release new features, improvements, or bug fixes within the same major version, you get them automatically. Future major versions (e.g., QuickSay 2.0) may require a separate purchase, but you will always be able to continue using the version you purchased.
4. Third-Party Services
QuickSay relies on the following third-party services to function:
- • Groq API — provides Whisper transcription and AI text cleanup. Groq's service is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policy.
- • LemonSqueezy — handles payment processing. Subject to their own terms.
We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, performance, or data handling practices. Changes to Groq's pricing, rate limits, or terms of service may affect QuickSay's functionality. By using QuickSay, you agree to comply with the terms of any third-party services it connects to.
5. API Key Responsibility (BYOK)
QuickSay operates on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. You are responsible for:
- • Obtaining and maintaining your own Groq API key
- • Keeping your API key secure and confidential
- • Any costs incurred through your Groq API usage
- • Compliance with Groq's terms of service and acceptable use policies
QuickSay stores your API key locally on your machine, encrypted with Windows DPAPI. We never transmit, access, or store your API key on our servers. We are not liable for any charges, data processing, or service issues related to your Groq account.
6. Intellectual Property
QuickSay, including its code, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of QuickSay and its creator. Your purchase grants you a license to use the software — it does not transfer ownership of the software itself.
Your content is yours. Any text generated through QuickSay's transcription belongs entirely to you. We claim no rights over your dictated content.
7. Disclaimer
QuickSay relies on Groq's API for transcription (Whisper) and text cleanup. The quality and accuracy of transcriptions depend on Groq's service, your microphone quality, background noise, and other factors. While we work to deliver the best possible experience, we cannot guarantee perfect transcription accuracy for all audio inputs, accents, or environments. You are responsible for reviewing transcribed text before relying on it.
8. Limitation of Liability
QuickSay is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to damages arising from transcription errors, service outages, or third-party service changes.
In plain terms: if a transcription error causes you a problem, we are sorry and we want to help fix the software, but we cannot be held financially responsible for downstream effects of incorrect transcriptions. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license ($39 USD at launch pricing, $74 USD at regular price).
9. No Warranty on Uptime
Because QuickSay depends on Groq's servers for transcription, we cannot guarantee 100% availability. If Groq's service experiences downtime, QuickSay's transcription features will be temporarily unavailable. We do not control Groq's infrastructure and cannot promise uninterrupted service.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use QuickSay for any illegal purpose or to generate content that violates applicable laws or third-party rights. You agree to comply with Groq's acceptable use policies when using their API through QuickSay. That is the entire acceptable use policy — we trust you to be a reasonable person.
11. Age Restriction
You must be at least 13 years of age to use QuickSay. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian before using the software.
12. Termination
Your license to use QuickSay is perpetual. We will not revoke it as long as you comply with these terms.
However, QuickSay's transcription features depend on Groq's service or your own API key. If Groq changes their pricing or availability, that is outside our control. We will always work to keep QuickSay functional, but we cannot guarantee perpetual access to third-party services.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of QuickSay will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
14. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify users through the application or on this website. Your continued use of QuickSay after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, you may stop using the software — your license to the version you purchased remains valid.
